The brief we set ourselves
Luxury commerce online often borrows the visual noise of fast fashion. We wanted a fragrance house that speaks quietly — where restraint itself communicates value.
The idea
Noiré is a fictional perfumer. Product pages are paced like the scent: top notes first, then the heart, then the base, revealed in sequence rather than listed at once. The checkout never raises its voice — no countdowns, no pop-ups.
Typography and colour
Gloock gives names and prices a hushed, editorial weight. Instrument Sans handles detail at small sizes. The palette is cerise noir, velvet, brass and vellum.

Signature interaction
Move through the notes. Each step changes the tone of the bottle and tells you what you would notice, and when.
Bright and green, gone almost as soon as you notice it.
What we would test next
Whether sequencing makes a fragrance easier to imagine than a flat list of notes, how much pacing a buyer accepts before it feels slow, and whether a quiet checkout converts as well as a loud one.
