The brief we set ourselves
Electric cars are usually sold on the web the way petrol cars were: a gallery, a spec table, a configurator that feels like a spreadsheet. We asked what a showroom would feel like if it had only one light — and the page decided where to point it.
The idea
Vanta is a fictional grand tourer. The site behaves like a dark studio: everything starts in shadow, and a single rear-lamp sweep reveals the car as you scroll. Specifications read as engineering drawings rather than marketing copy, and nothing competes with the silhouette.
Typography and colour
Michroma is wide and technical — the voice of a dashboard, used sparingly for names and figures. Barlow carries everything that has to be read. The palette is almost entirely black, with one red reserved for the light.

Signature interaction
The configurator changes paint under studio light. Choosing a colour does not swap a picture; the light sweeps across the body again, the way a car is shown on a turntable. Try it below.
What we would test next
Whether a one-light scene stays legible on a phone in daylight, how long people are willing to wait for a reveal before they skip it, and whether specifications read as drawings are understood as quickly as a table.
