The brief we set ourselves
Architecture studios often publish their work as feeds: many thumbnails, little attention. We wanted a site that reads like a monograph — the kind of book you open slowly, one plate at a time.
The idea
Forma is a fictional practice. Every page is set on a seven-column module taken from a building grid. A project is three things: one photograph, one plan, one paragraph. There is no carousel and no autoplay; the reader turns the page.
Typography and colour
Italiana is quiet and monumental, used large and rarely, like lettering cut into stone. Instrument Sans does the work of captions and navigation. The palette is limestone, render, oak and basalt — materials, not colours.

Signature interaction
The plate viewer. Step through the plates one at a time, and switch on the module to see the seven columns every composition is built on.

What we would test next
Whether slow pacing holds attention or loses it, how the module adapts to portrait photography on a phone, and whether visitors understand a plate without reading the paragraph.
